Hakim Murphy — Black Robots Having Sex Remixes
First transmitted in 2009, Black Robots Having Sex returns not as a reissue, but as a mutation. The original record carried three machine-born visions into the world, including Morgan Geist’s remix of “Jupiter Poop.” Years later, Christopher Rau reached back into the circuitry with a desire to reshape “Nikki Muscles,” and from that spark a new remix constellation began to form.
Rau’s “This Is Reality Remix” bends “Nikki Muscles” away from its acid house origin and lets it bloom into something warmer, groovier, and sun-struck. A rolling bassline pulls the track toward the open air, turning its mechanical bones into a summer festival pulse.
Myles Sergè enters the chamber with his BK Bathroom Remix of “Black Robots Having Sex,” carving out a relentless techno pressure system. The drums pump with hard devotion, the rhythm grinds forward, and even the chords struggle to soften the impact.
Murphy closes the triangle with a remix of Myles’ sketch, refusing the simple act of re-release. Instead, he disassembles, re-freaks, and repositions the drums, keeping the spirit alive while shifting the body into a new form.
