Our 3rd installment in our series comes from our own Myk Derill
Myk Derill’s transit into electronic dance music was a steady one. His early influences involved a plethora of musical genres & that eclecticism still motivates him today.
A rock edge, punk stance, funk & hip hop riffs all rooted their way in as ideas to expand. In 2005, he began to produce & turn those ideas into reality. At first, Myk found inspiration from his friends at Fachwerk Records but then went on to decisively strengthen his own unrivaled sound.
Stepping up to the present & after numerous digital releases, he now produces exclusively on vinyl. He continues to establish an output with RE(FORM), Fluxus, Knotweed, Steadfast etc. Myk’s productivity fuses commanding bass lines ,rhythmic sections with dub, Detroit flavors, & futuristic atmospheres ,melodies.
